Association for Women’s Awareness and Rural Development (AWARD) is a nongovernmental, nonprofit and non-political organization based in Faisalabad in the province of Punjab – Pakistan. It was established on March 21, 1994 and is dedicated to community development work without any discrimination of sex, caste, color and religion. It mainly helps the low-income women and disadvantaged rural population to improve their socio-economic and basic rights situation through group meetings, seminars, workshops, conferences, training and by providing them with moral, technical, professional and financial assistance in projects and programs.

AWARD is registered with the Government under Societies Registration Act 1860 and also has been in a process of affiliation with  Economic Affairs Department (EAD)

AWARD is a national organization with its major focus on 3 provinces (Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhaw and Sindh). The areas of operation could vary, depends on the situation and need. Our head office is located in Faisalabad. The currently operated districts are as follows:

our objectives

  1. To improve the social status of marginalized women living with inequality, oppression and insecure environment by enhancing  their access towards non-formal education, knowledge and skills to become active part of their own development and to claim their rights.

  2. To improve the economic situation of low income women by advocating for women economic rights and by improving their access towards decent and profitable livelihood options.

  3. To create inclusive, just and democratic society capable to engage women leaders for responsible and accountable governance.

  4. To provide Emergency Response to the communities affected by natural or manmade disasters.
